was watching memento with lin in the school library with lin just now and yes it is indeed, mind-boggling stuff and some of the parts in the story are just left unexplained, like, who was the person talking to him on the phone. i love these kind of movies where it leaves you wanting to know more about what happened or the sense that is actually supposed to be figured out. a classic would be mulholland drive. boy, that one will just leave you scratching your head. lin was scratching hers and so was i.
so when i was home today, i was talking to my mom about my slightly ailing aunt, and she said that she doesn't really like the staff nurses at the hospital because they don't exactly give so much of a hoot of what the patients are going through, they just monitor their health and if it can't be helped (of course i know that it can't be helped) but at least, give some compassion to the poor patient and his or her wellbeing. my mom said there were like mumps/rashes forming on her heels because she's barely able to move them but the damn nurses only did something when my mom told them. sure i know you might be busy, but aren't they like taught to go through their patients' conditions thoroughly?
no offence to the poly nurses (that goes to you my dear mister fuad) because the madam says that you guys are pretty efficient, but i think the whole "i want to pass this module" that is instilled in every living tertiary student in singapore helps in that situation.
i have a weird fascination (or should you call it, interest) for lightning shows in the sky. it's those kinds where there's only the lightning minus the thunder. it's like a silent movie and you feel like.. enthralled every single time you watch a big, huge lightning bolt streak through the sky. there's so much energy in it, literally, talking in voltage and watts but other than that, it is a powerful visual spectacle. i know it's not advisable or even necessary (my mom says it's not good) but i still will do it and i am waiting for one.
and you people thought that nature was boring.
oh yes. get bjork's volta. out may 7th. hahaha.
